Our Mission

Our mission at Café Alma is to serve clean, delicious food that makes healthy eating a daily habit, and to share the vibrant flavors and benefits of the Mediterranean Diet with our community.

What we eat is what we are, and your health is always our highest priority. Every dish is made in our scratch kitchen with real, wholesome ingredients, because nourishing your body should never mean compromising on taste.

We believe in eating mindfully, celebrating what goes in rather than focusing on what stays out, and treating your mind and body with the same care you’d give someone you love.

About the Café

Café Alma began as a shared dream between husband-and-wife team Lainey and Yair Richler. The two met and built a life together in Tel Aviv, where they fell in love with the city’s lively café culture—spaces that buzzed with flavor, warmth, and connection.

After Lainey’s military service, they set off on a year-long trip around the world, chasing hikes, exploring nature, and visiting cafés everywhere they could. When the pandemic unexpectedly brought them to Cincinnati, the dream they’d been carrying finally found its place to land.

In 2022, they opened Café Alma in Pleasant Ridge—a café rooted in Mediterranean hospitality, bold ingredients, and real community. The menu is pescatarian and kosher, with abundant vegetarian and vegan options, all crafted in a scratch kitchen using high-quality ingredients.

The café has grown right alongside Lainey and Yair’s family—their three kids have spent their early years in and around the café, inspiring menu ideas, greeting regulars, and making it even more of a family affair.

While proudly based in Pleasant Ridge, Café Alma has become a gathering place for guests from Amberley, Norwood, and throughout Cincinnati. It’s also grown to include catering and community events, continuing to evolve as a place where connection happens around the table.

At Café Alma, you're always invited to linger a little longer, eat a little better, and feel a little more at home.
